Exclusive Jungle Trekking - Two days

Enjoy a beautiful trekking adventure in Mae Wang National Park, an hour south of Chiang Mai. The area is known for its green rolling hills, waterfalls, rice paddies, and Karen tribal villages. This diverse trip will take you to a Karen Elephant Project, where you will feed and bathe with the elephants. After this, we start to explore the jungles of Mae Wang and Doi Inthanon in Southern Chiang Mai province, spend the night in a Karen hill-tribe village, and raft down the Mae Wang River on a bamboo raft. This exciting jungle trekking will show you everything Chiang Mai has to offer!

The first day's hiking distance will be about 10 kilometers, depending on the weather and season. On the second day we will walk for 30 minutes and spend the rest of the day at the elephant sanctuary and bamboo rafting. A moderate fitness level is required, but beginners are welcome.

Children younger than 10 years of age get a 50% discount.

Itinerary & Practicalities

Price: 2100 THB

Day 1

  • Pick up from your hotel between 8:00 – 8:30 AM

  • We will pick you up from your hotel and drive approximately 1 hour South of Chiang Mai.

  • Visit a local market to buy supplies.

  • Start trekking for approximately 5 Kilometers to a waterfall where we can enjoy a refreshing bath.

  • Have lunch at the waterfall.

  • Trekking for approximately 6 Kilometers through the jungle past another two waterfalls and rice paddies.

  • Arrive at a Karen Tribal village where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2

  • Have breakfast and coffee or tea.

  • Walk for about 30 minutes to a waterfall.

  • Spend about 1 hour with the elephants at Karen Elephant Project and enjoy feeding and bathing in the river with them.

  • After lunch, we continue to the Mae Wang River to start bamboo rafting.

  • We will end our adventure with a one-hour bamboo raft trip.

  • Drive back to Chiang Mai

  • Return to your hotel between 5:30 and 6:30 PM

Included in the price: Transportation, Luggage Storage, English-speaking guide, lunch, breakfast, dinner, National Park entrance fees, and overnight stay.

What to bring: a small backpack, tissue paper, money to buy drinks (300 THB), walking shoes, a bathing suit, towel, insect spray, sunscreen, rain jacket, change of clothing, toothbrush, warm clothing (during winter time).
